The two skyscrapers on either side are the Mapfre Tower and the Hotel Arts, with
Frank Gehry"s spectacular goldfish sculpture at its base, and nearby, the
Gran Casino de Barcelona. Lovers of water sports can go yachting or practise other types of sailing techniques here, and in the summertime, the beaches on either side of the marina –
Somorrostro and
Nova Icària – are the perfect place for sunbathing or for a cooling dip in the sea.
The TNC, Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, is located in
Barcelona"s Eixample. It was designed by the architect Ricard Bofill and comprises three theatres. It combine performances of Catalan and Spanish plays and world classics, with contemporary dance and drama, family theater and major international productions, offering proposals for all audiences.
Different native and exotic species, many of them endangered, live in the Barcelona Zoo. A visit to the zoo becomes a learning experience with inhabitants from around the world, as you discover its fauna: mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds… The attractions at the zoo make for an unforgettable, perfect day out for all the family.
