European Museum of Modern Art - MEAM

European Museum of Modern Art - MEAM

The MEAM is located in the Palau Gomis, a unique 18th-century neoclassical building in the Born district, which is one of Barcelona's key tourist and cultural sites.

The European Museum of Modern Art, MEAM, launched in 2011 and since then has come to prominence with one of the most important collections of figurative art from around the world. You’ll find more than 1,500 works by hundreds of artists who represent the five continents. The museum’s holdings are added to every year when the works from the different competitions it holds are put on display. These include the biennial Art and Artists Foundation prize. All the works on show are by living artists, making the museum a true showcase for the art of today.
